Have you ever read a book that made you enjoy reading?

Well, I'll tell you, I have. As a child, I never enjoyed reading. I would hate reading books whether reading in front of my of my classes nor to myself alone in my room for homework reason. I absolutely hated reading, until a couple of years ago I came across a book named Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan.
Darren Shan

Cirque du Freak is a story about a boy name Darren Shan.(Yes, the main character has the same name as the author. There's a reason why at the end of the
series. ) Darren who is twelve years old at the beginning of the book, sneaks out of his room one late night to go to a freak show with his best friend Steve. At the freak show called Cirque du Freak, both friends see many exciting act, until one act that really gets the two boys attention. The act is called Larten Crepsley  and him magnificent and poisons spider Madam Octa. While Darren is giving all his attention to Madam Octa( Darren loves spiders) Steve ,in the other hand, is giving all his attention to Larten.Steve tells Darrn after the act that Larten is a vampire. Darren doesn't believe Steve, but Steve say that he has seen Crepsley's portrait in a book about vampires. (Steve is fastened about the world of vampires and would love to become one himself.) After the show, Darren and Steve get separated. While Steve goes to talk to Crepsley about becoming a vampire (which doesn't end well), Darren goes home thinking about stealing Madam Octa. After two days goes by, Darren decides to steal Madam Octa and succeeds. As days go by again, Darren is happy with his new( stolen) pet,but the happiness does not last long. When Steve visits Darren, Madam Octa bites Steve and Steve  goes into a coma. Darren decides To go talk to Crepsley and beg to help him. Crepsley gladly gives Darren the antidote but  under the condition of Darren becoming his vampire assistant. Will   Darren chose to save  his friend  Steve or let Steve die? I'll stop here because t don't want to ruin the story if any of you would like or are interested  in reading it
 All 12 Books

I know what you are all thinking, " not another vampire story!" Let me tell you, this story is not and I repeat not a bad story. It does not revolve around the idea of love, it act wally  deals with ones actions and their consequences. it also deals with friendship, the idea of having the decision to keep someone alive or let him/her die, and betrayal. We all can connect somehow to a character or characters in the book. I connected most with the main character, Darren because he has strong love for his family and friends as I do for my family and friends.
The  main reason I love this book is because this book is straight forward and has excitement that keeps me from falling asleep. Many book tend to be thick and fill with way too much detail that easily can confuse someone. I mean, every book needs to have detail but it has to be reasonable enough that it would not make the reader fall asleep or stop reading the book. Darren Shan (The author) kept his detail simple and straight forward because he wants people to read and enjoy books rather than people hating to read of fear of books.

Please leave your comment if you wish to know more or just talk. See you all next week or sooner. Remember stay young everyone^.^. Bye

  1. Im not really into those books. Im more of a non-fiction book person, like a "Child Called-'IT' " is a book that i would read. But then again this series does seem a little freakish to me. Thankfully Vampires don't really exist! And madam octa is a person or like a dog type thing or? I'm not to clear about that. Very interesting though.
